On the road again.

We have been stopped just outside Winnipeg Manitoba for 6 nights. Today we are exploring the city and plan on attending the Saturday evening service at the CHURCH OF THE ROCK. ( Pastor Mark Hughes)

We will be leaving here Monday morning as Sunday we plan to take in a service at SPRINGS CHURCH. ( Pastor Leon Fontaine) We have been watching their messages for several years on television. When Jannich went into the Church of the Rock to find out about service times he had a chat with Pastor Mark who happened to be at the reception desk.

From Durham Ontario, via Sudbury, Sault Saint Marie, Thunder Bay and Kenora approximately 1900 Km / 1180 Miles were travelled to the Manitoba border. We stopped at Wawa Ontario to photograph this metal sculpture of the Canada goose. We used a visit to the Agawa Indian gift shop as a break from traveling.

Interesting details.

We visited a memorial to Terry Fox whose MARATHON OF HOPE across Canada ended at Thunder Bay Ontario with the return of his cancer. He started at the Atlantic Ocean and ran a daily marathon of 26 miles in spite of having already lost one leg to the disease.

Between Kenora and the Manitoba border we noticed road side signage to the effect that travelers going West and North should note that all rivers from here flow into the Arctic Ocean. We parked our RV beside this beautiful river for 3 nights.

About 10 Km East of Winnipeg this intriguing sign appeared.

Durham Ontario, Home (for now)

Since Easter we have been at home in this driveway in Durham Ontario. Darrell and Isabel (Ruth's sister) have lent their accommodations to us. We are surrounded by well cared for lawns and beautiful flower beds in a veery peaceful setting.
